What do you consider when buying games for your kids entering primary school?

Main Post:

What are some of your key deciding factors for purchasing the game? Your kids' interest in the theme? Educational value? Lifetime Value i.e. replayability till later years? I'm trying to balance what is good for them vs. what they like.

Top Comment: What they are interested in and what they like. Boardgames already teach lessons in strategy, good sportsmanship, being a team player (for co-op games), critical thinking, logic, Math, English, etc. etc.

Will my primary account games stay after jailbreaking 6.72 PS4?

Main Post:

I have 6.72 PS4 with a primary account set with bunch of games. I only play it offline. If I jailbreak my PS4 will these games be playable afterwards? Are there any chances that I will lose existing games?

Note: I do not have password to the pan account anymore, so I will not be able to login again in the account with games.

Same PS5, Brother is primary, will he be able to play games I buy?

Main Post:

Basically that, me and my brother share a PS5. He is primary as he has bought most the games and I can play those aswell. If I buy a game (helldivers 2), will he also be able to play it even if I’m not primary?

Top Comment: Any user on a PS5 can play the games owned by an account that has that console set to their primary PS5. They also gain access to some PS Plus features (online multiplayer, game catalog, and acquired monthly games). If the console is not your primary PS5, your brother won't be able to play your games. You'll have to set the console as the primary PS5 for your account, or your brother will have to buy the game himself.

[TOMT][Game] Primarygames game where you draw worlds/creatures and they came to life.

Main Post:

Basically, I remember this game from probably around 09/10, you'd be allowed to draw creatures or worlds and whatnot and they'd be interactable or like the creatures would hop around and stuff. I think it started with an S but I'm not entirely sure! I'm sure someone remembers this game and played it more than me, it was a weird word maybe in a different language or just entirely made up?

Xeno primary games help

Main Post:

Can anyone explain which games I should buy in this series?

I know very little about it, other than it’s popular and probably worth owning.

And I understand that there are 3 different main games (parts 1, 2, 3) along with some prequels (at most 3 sequels). So that should be a total of 6 main games.

But it looks like there are about 10 releases of this series (including an upcoming 2025 release). So it seems that the waters are muddied with a bunch of ports and re-releases and “spiritual successors,” whatever the heck that is supposed to mean.

I am not a collector, so I don’t want them all. I just want 1 copy of each main game. Ideally the “best” version. Maybe you all can help me with that?

For example, it seems like Part 1 was released and re-released multiple times. Which version do you think is the best? Mostly likely I can skip the 3DS port, unless anyone here thinks otherwise. Can I skip the original Wii release?

Anyway, I think you know what I mean. Thanks!

It’s not as complicated as you make it seem. There are four Xenoblade games:

Xenoblade Chronicles

Xenoblade Chronicles X

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

The first game was on the Wii originally, and received a 3DS version, but the best version to play is the Switch release, called the ‘Definitive Edition’. This has quality-of-life improvements, remixed music, different graphics (most people would consider it an improvement) and an extra story called ‘Future Connected’.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is currently only available on Wii U, but early next year will receive a ‘Definitive Edition’ release on Switch that will have new story content. While the other three games are narratively connected, X is separate. You can this one if you wanted and you wouldn’t be missing any important information in 2 or 3.

Xenoblades 2 and 3 are both exclusive to the Switch; there is no other version. Both of these games have DLC expansions (‘Torna- The Golden Country’ for 2, ‘Future Redeemed’ for 3), and the ‘Torna’ expansion has its own physical release, but the simplest thing would be to get it digitally as DLC.

The other Xeno games are Xenogears (a PS1 game) and Xenosaga (a trilogy on PS2). For now they are not formally connected to Xenoblade and most Xenoblade fans have not played them, although they are worth it. But they are owned by different companies, more difficult to get a hold of and less accessible in gameplay terms.

TL, DR: just get the stuff that’s on Switch. There’s no real reason to bother with the other versions, and it’s probably better to leave the ‘spiritual predecessors’ for now.

Games for lower primary no writing or coloring

Main Post:

I need to prepare some games for 1st and 2nd grade.

They're learning toy vocabulary in class.

The teacher really doesn't want me to do anything that involves writing or coloring.

I'm stumped for ideas as they don't understand anything I say.

Top Comment: Riddle game. You can create a riddle PowerPoint that describes a toy and they have to guess which toy it is. You can simplify it by showing pictures of 3 it could be if you need to. You can make it a competition in groups

Account as primary

Main Post:

Dear All,

I purchased online game from a person here. He gave me an account to download the game and then asked me to make that account primary but play the game from my own account. I have done it already but what is the implication of making some other account primary on my own console?

What’s the name of a primary school playground game?

Main Post:

You divide in two groups on a big area. You take turns throwing the tennis ball to the other team as hard and far as you can. If they catch it you’re out.

Until only two are left and you keep going until one wins.

Played in the 80’s in Lancashire.

Edit. Unlike dodgeball where you throw it against your opponent to make them out, the objective was to throw the ball towards the opposition without them being able to catch it before it hits the ground.

We’re still debating here.

Top Comment:

We played something similar and we called it ‘has anyone got a tennis ball?’

We weren’t good at names.

How do I engage the younger members of Primary during singing time?

Main Post:

Howdy! I’m excited to be a substitute music leader in Singing Time. I know how to engage the older children...that’s easy for me. But I have little to no experience with LITTLE little children, so I’m not sure how to engage them. I’ll be praying for answers for myself and asking members of my ward, but it doesn’t hurt to ask here too! What are some ways that you engage younger children in big Primary setting?

Top Comment:

Act really big and give them a lot of physical motions. Do as I'm Doing is a great example. Maybe come up with some movements for the songs.
